Comments on Autel MS300 OBD Reader?

I purchased Autel MS300 OBD reader from Amazon. I tried couple of units as I thought I had a defective one. It does NOT read the trouble code on my 2000 Maxima. I have the check engine light on and I know which codes are active (I have GS400 scanner also) but MS300 tells me there are "NO DTC"!

I want a cheap reader to keep in every car that I own and if you have recommendation for one, I would appreciate it.

Autel MS300 is cheap ($40 delivered from Amazon) and has good feature/cost ratio but I wish it did not have bugs. It did read DTC's on my Camry, so I might still keep it for the Camry but I prefer something which I can really trust.

Autel used to make good scanner. I have GS400 and did not give me any trouble but their latest models have bugs galore. The top of the line JP702 had just too many bugs (gave wrong freeze frame and live data values!).

Thanks,
- Vikas
