Steering is becoming loose...

The past few days(since I rotated my tires) ive noticed that my steering is looser/sloppier. It takes more of a turn to change lanes, and it doesn't have that aggressive road contact feel(if that makes any sense) Is it possible that I messed something up in the tire rotation? what is typically causes this to happen? thanks in advance.

Check your tire pressure.

i get this problem too sometimes on the freeway at like 75+ mph. feels like my wheels are going to fall out and scares the shizzle outta me. I did get my tires recently rotated too.

Check tie rod ends and wheel balance. Off-balance wheels are easier to detect when up front than when in the rear.

yeah i think my wheels are off balance because my steering wheel vibrates at 60mph.

x2. I didn't realize that the guy that swapped my tires over to my new wheels filled them with 45 psi, felt like a basketball, didn't help that they were out 1 1/2 oz. on both fronts. Took $42.50 at Discount Tire to find the issue, but well worth it.

That would be my bet. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. No vibration in the wheel 0-90mph.

Rotated front-> rear and rear-> front, and vibration started at about 60mph. Wheels were off balance, but since they were in the rear, I never felt it.

Which way did you rotate?

I'm hoping only front to rear and kept them on their side.

Not sure what tires you have, but mine are uni-directional and if I was to cross them I would think the steering would be goofy.

I have uni-directional tires. It doesn't matter.

DIRECTIONAL tires are what matter. On directional tires there's an arrow on the sidewall that says -------> Wheel Rotation, or something to that effect.

Lotta noobiness in this thread...
