Nismo Thermostat?

Is anyone running the Nismo T-stat on your vq35? Any feedback about it? I've been looking at the Nismo T-stat online it opens at 68* celcius. Here's the link to it.

I've heard of a lot of people using this thermostat on their Maximas. Many also use the 350z T-stat as well...

Theres a thread around here somewhere talking about each and their benefits.

Why is it $70-80 more than a factory thermostat?

the z33 t-stat works. But if you get it with the housing it has a different orientation so you need to replace your lower rad house with one form a 4th gen. That's how I did mine.

The z is about 10 degrees cooler. I wouldn't recommend the nismo for the northern climates, you will never get any heat. I have a feeling the nismo is made for the z, so you would need to do the same modification. Unless it fits into the existing housing.

Nismo stat

Nismo stat does work, for those not 3.5 you will have to plug the oil cooler line that comes on the stat. My .02.

If the t-stat opens at the wrong temp, it may triger a SES light, be sure to check that.

Had the low temp one on my Maxima for years... it was a NISMO VQ35 one I used in a DE-K and I never had any issues.

I switched to it to keep me from having to do an oil cooler on the car for those hot track days. I was hitting 280F after 20 min session on a 90F day.... after the T-Stat my oil temps would stay around 260F at the same track/temps. Negative is, heat didn't work well in the winter.

I got one when my thermostat was bad (probably stuck open). In the winter, it would take 10 minutes of driving to get the temperature to normal.
