Insurance Model Description
My latest insurance form has my 2001 SE's model to be 'MAX ANNIV ED.' It was like this six months ago and they told me they classified all the Maximas like this.
I'm guessing the anniversary edition would cost more to insure than the SE.
I was wondering if anyone else has this same situation; if you have a 2001 SE, what model name appears on your insurance documents?

Just Maxima.. Both of my Family Maximas are like that also.. a 96GXE, and mine an 01AE..
That can't be good if your insurance is trying to get as much money from you as possible.. lol
But i know why the reason my insurance is high.. Speeding tickets and me being only 19

Got to disagree as comp, or even collision, is not a great amount of money, but if the car is totalled you're still out $6k w/o insurance, if you're at fault. Even hitting a deer is covered under comp and no insurance charges in NJ.

otherwise the extra $85/month premium isn't worth it for me

My buddy owns a Allstate agency and he says it doiesn't matter what it says. It's all based on the Vin#s.
He said that you wouldn't believe what comes up sometimes since there is no set naming convention at the insurance headquarters when someone enters in the data.
He also said that $5k is just about the break point where he feels it is not worth while to have collision and comp. Anything less than $5k and you should roll the dice with liability only.
All companies will total cars worth less that that for any accident for more than $2k and the payouts usually aren't that good. That's isn't true 100% of the time, but is a good rule of thumb.

the truth!!
according to my insur agency. i had asked about my svt contour wich is listed on my policy as svt .. she told me because of the availability or unavailability of replacement parts. in the svt contours case. they discontinued the ground fx just like an AE maxima... thats why the cost is more and why there listed as such :the more scarse the parts the more they stiick it to ya.:

So the availability is very close to Non existent, unless you get lucky at a junkyard.. lol.. if i ever get into an accident like that, id stride for a 2k2 front end or rear
