Getting to Bank 2 Sensor 2 (b2s2) Cali

Pulled a p0158, (Bank 2 sensor 2 Max Voltage)

after replacing my rusted off cat and muffler / exhaust

So I buy a Bosch replacement 02 sensor, some pb buster, and a loaner set of 02 ratchets and thought it would be a simple job

6+ hrs laters...I cant even get to the rusted on 02 sensor, there is not any damn room in there

I tried using a flexi-ratchet to no avail

I tried using a ratchet extension and the first pre-cat is too fat to allow even that tube in there.

I hammered a wrench into a breaker bar (galvanized steel pipe) and that just kept slipping off due to my usage of a vice grip on it earlier.

ANY HELP would be appreciated, I am at my wits end!!

Was it hot? I had my mechanic remove that same sensor just last week, first time at 130K. At first he tried to put O2 socket on it but it was too hot, so he just used standard 22mm (is it 22mm) wrench on it and it loosened up. The car was hot when he did that and then waited for the car to cool down before removing it. Obviously, when the car is up on the lift, it is less difficult to get to that sensor. It is in awful place :-(

Just driving the car makes that sensor hot as hell. Just don't burn yourself.

I had the same problem. I finally hit the pipe not the sensor with a torch for about a minute and then it was fairly easy to break loose.
