Calipers

I went to the junk yard and got an extra pair of rear brake assembly (I know the maxima rear calipers are sh!tty) to recondition and have ready for the next time I do my rear pads. I had to fight with the driver side last time. One side always seem to be stuck, even with my previous Max. Anyway my question is...where can I get new pistions and rubbers for these things.

i have a set of working rear calipers if you need them. Also, make sure your ebrake isnt on when you try to take off the calipers...

Nissan has an OEM rebuild kit for ~$50, contact Dave Burnette at Southpoint Nissan for best pricing.

Those ratcheting calipers are a PITFA to rebuild. I don't recommend it.

most auto parts store should have the plug and play kit for your application.

No sh*t. Dished spring washers? Not again, no thanks. If I do this, it'll be with rebuilt ones by someone else.

Had the same problems with my rear calipers. One was stuck and my local service guy(who I trust) replaced them with I think Wagner remanned. Now I have the constant "loose fitting " pad issue. My dealer told me it was the aftermarket pads,so they changed them back to OEM and it baaaack.Maybe just need some used originals?

On my '01 Maxima I replaced the rear calipers with remanned from A1 Cardonne. Bought them on RockAuto. Only issue is the exterior body of the caliper is rusting...evidently in the sand blasting to clean them up they remove the protective coating and don't replace it. If you DIY consider painting them to keep the rust down. Otherwise they work fine.

One other thing. You'll have to remove the bracket that holds the parking brake cable in place on the calpier. Can be hard due to rust but with some effort and PB Blaster it does come off.

Just bought calipers off a parted out 04 350z. I know the rears will bolt up, but not sure about the front. Not sure if the Maxima's front brake is the same or better than the 350z's from 04. Bought all 4 calipers for $160 E-Bay

The installed the shim kit at the dealer and they adjusted the hell out of the e-brake.5K later the noise persists. Are there any bolt on upgrade that will fit under my 17" SE wheels that don't cost megabucks or customizing?Just basically looking for calipers that hold the pads in place!!!
