Seating in a 5th gen?

Ok I just sold my 96 Max last night - great car but I am ready to move on. I can't decide what to get! I was going to throw money down on an 02 Altima, but I don't want to spend that much. So then I decided on a Celica GTS for the sportiness.

But I decided I didn't want something that small.

I have a friend who can get me a 00 Maxima at wholesale. My question is about the seating. One thing I hated about my 96 was that the seats aren't bolstered that much so if you corner hard you slide around the seat real bad. I also like the lower seating in some cars it makes you feel like you are in more control. What is the 00 like? Is it any better? Does it handle a LOT better? I used to have an Integra and loved the way it seated.

As far as the seating goes, it should be about the same as in the 2001 Maximas. Go down to a dealership and try one out. Just don't get attached to the 255 HP if you try a 2002. Plus, the seats are a little different in the 2002.

have you test drove the GT-S yet?
the handling is so much better than a maxima it's amazing.
it's just as fast as a 2000 max in a straight line too.

However if you have to have 3 or 4 people in your car alot, then you better not get it. If you are just worried about cargo space, I think the trunk of the GT-S (hatchback) is not too small.

Yeah I have driven the GTS its a lot of fun but I think I'm going to go with the Maxima anyway. I drive 40K a year for my job and the GTS is a pain to get in and out of. I really wanted the new Altima, but I can get a Maxima with everything on it for quite a bit less.

GTS are nice but the RSX are a bit better for the same price (maybe). Anyway, the new Max will toast a GTS pretty easily but when it gets a little curvy, bye bye Max

For a little bit more, get a WRX. That thing is a freak of nature. There was a comparo recently and that thing had the same slalom speed as a Z06!
