Progress pictures of my new headlights.

So I bought the lights from MDeezy and started to get to work. I will attempt to clean and polish the front lens, while I finish the clearing of the orange lens, and blackhouse the housing... Here are some progress pictures:

Oh, this is nice. If your progress- and finished-job photos are as good as these, this is going to a great thread.

Write down what your doing, describe the job.

Keep it going.

Thanks. I will do what I can to describe more of what I did... but in the mean time, I will work on these little by little, then be able to swap them into my car. I have a feeling that I will need to replace the drivers lens because whatever happened to it, it happened on the inside, and nothing I have used can get rid of it...

It's wet sanding time for those lenses. I'm planning to do that with mine to try to get rid of some pitting, and oxidation that seems to returned a short time after using plastic x.

I bought the 3M headlight restoration kit for my 5.5 hids (http://www.amazon.com/3M-39008-Headl...0818692&sr=8-1) and it worked wonders. Don't know if it'll work on that drivers side lense, looks pretty bad, but worth a shot maybe. Good luck!

use a good metal polish (wheel polish) with an orbital buffer and then hit it with brasso by hand (watch the brasso if the light were still on the car-itll eat your paint right off).

in for updates...

Great job ... are you using a gloss black or a satin finish black? ... this is still a mod I wish to under take ... love the look of the blackened out head lamps, and I would most likely just smoke the orange turning signal ... restoring the clarity of the lens is going to be some work, but it is do able ... props for the DIY

I used a satin black. I am going to the store today, so I can buy a lens to replace the orange one... Update to follow as soon as I have them.

Just picked them up. I am in no hurry, so I will take my time and I have a belt sander at home that I can use if needed... Thanks for the heads up though.

I prefer no lens and a chrome plated turn signal bulb from autolimination.com, but that's just me.

So did alittle bit more work with the lights... Traced out the circle pattern on the new lens, then cut out with my dremel. After that, just cut off the loose plastic on the edges, and epoxied the new cleared lens into the housing...

Any luck on the headlight lenses themselves? Have you tried the 3m kit yet?

I personally like the amber lenses... but amber-heads are in a minority here, and that's OK.

It's looking really, really good, LowZ. Keep going!

I'm thinking everyone is interested in seeing how well you clean up those big faded covers.
