Check out all my LED mods!

The Interior

Shifter Lights

...again

-I took the climate control module apart somewhat and drilled 5 holes into the clear plastic piece that distributes light downward and put 5 LEDs in here

Switches, etc...

-Took apart my headed seat switches and soldered LEDs and resistors in

-did the same with the heated steering switch (took 2 LEDs)

-and the light on the dimmer

-This is the switch I bought and installed by the shifter where there's a coin holder. It is wired to all of the LEDs in my footwells, and the wiring is hidden under the center console.

-and I put 2 LEDs in the ring around the ignition to achieve this. The light appears more uniform in person than in this pic.

-I took all of this apart and put red cellophane in here to change the green displays to white

-and the clock. I snipped the dimmer wire on this, because otherwise I couldn't see the clock at night when the headlights are on. Now it's perfect.

...another view

-took the clock apart, cut out the red security light, bypassed the old resistor on the circuit board, and soldered in my own blue LED and resistor.

-I took apart all the window switches and put in LEDs, and drilled a hole in the back of the door handle and put 1 LED (facing forward) in there.

-in the backseat

-The footwells in the back. I also put an LED in the little handle for the cup holders in the back of the center console. All the pics that I took of my footwells (front and back) really didn't turn out well and don't do justice to how good it actually looks.

-view of the door with bottom light

-The whole front (not the best pic)

-again from another angle...

The Exterior

-My Umnitza Orion V2 Angel Eyes with other LED plug and play lights (including the fogs) I got from v-leds.com (I can specify which exact ones I got if anyone wants)

-My back up lights (also from v-leds.com)

-license plate lights (from v-leds)

Ok, there are my LED mods I've done in the last while. What do you all think??

Yeah, I know it's a lot of LEDs... but I sure like it
Hey stormzusmc, could you tell me how you did your speedo as soon as you do? I don't want to mess it up and that's about the only thing I can still change the lights in and I would... I just don't want to wreck anything... I've pulled it out and started taking it apart before, but I've never wanted to pull the needles off.. I heard you can wreck it by doing that.

I wish I COULD do a write-up, but I didn't think about it at the time (I've done it over the last 6 months or so) and now that it's all done, it would require taking it all apart to take pics, etc. I'm willing to explain any of the steps in detail if anyone wants.

What's that light above your ashtray glowing down on your shifter? Did you create that?

I've been busy this summer replacing a variety of bulbs (numerous times, trying to get a color and brightness setup I'm pleased with.) But you... wow. You've taken LED interiors to a whole new level. Nicely done.

I just went out to the parking lot to look... OMG, there is a light panel there, and you're right that it's incredibly weak. I need to look at this later tonight, after dark.

Wow... 7 years later, and I just found something on my car I never knew was there. Thanks, bibpopaj!

Oh pics aren't always needed for write up.... Can you explain how you did the led strip above ashtray? also, what kind of resistors do you use for putting LED's in all the switches? any chance you can explain how you did the switch and the footwell lighting?

Single #74 bulb facing towards and acrylic diffuser. You can remove the diffuser and make your own very easily using 4 leds and a small piece of acrylic

Try it. It should be ok. If not, you can dremel out a section of the opening to make the bayonet base fit - just dont' remove too much of the silver solder in doing so.

how did you get the clock white? I took mine apart and it still wants to be blue/greeny color

For resistors type resistor calculator on google, type in the number of led's in the string the voltage from the battery, and the voltage drop across the led.
