Need 2000-2002 Max/I30 in AZ to try out new KYB AGX
Need 2000-2002 Max/I30 in AZ to try out new KYB AGX
I've got a set of gen5-adapted AGXs with a pair of gen4 KYB upper front mounts ready for trial installation. I need to test these on a 2000-2002 Maxima or I30 before going into production and have to do it here (Tucson) or Phoenix. Sorry, don't want to send them away for the trial run.
I'll offer some kind of a part or installation discount to whomever would like to work with me on these. If everything works the way it should, the owner drives away with these on after installation and a little test drive.
We'd like to get these into production before Christmas and are ready to go pending fitment of the prototype set. If this is of possible interest, please contact me -- at cattmanperformance@earthlink.net -- as soon as possible.
BTW, if anyone's wondering why getting these ready has taken so long, its largely because the task of adapting them to the gen5 turned out to be much more substantial than I thought and I had to switch fabricators to get the job done.

Re: 2k2 y-pipe
Aye, that's its own story, dying to get my hands on the 2002 Max and Altima.
Would make someone an incredibly sweet deal on the resulting product.

If your using a modified 4th generation KYB AGX strut and a 4th generation upper strut mount, your going to need 4th gen. springs. Most spring manufacturers, Eibach, H&R, etc list different part numbers for their 4th and 5th gen. springs.

I don't think there is any difference between the 4th gen spring and 5th gen spring. The different part # may only reflect a difference in lowering height. The spring should still fit just fine. I think a few have been using Progress springs from the 4th gen on the 5th gen without any issues. Also, the 4th gen Koni's also work with 5th gen springs, so I don't think it should be an issue.
