STAGGERED???

STAGGERED???
So im thinking about sometime in the future going with a staggered look, maybe like a 19x8.5(front) and a 19x9.5(rear) with some stretched tires....something like a mesh wheel or something along those lines.maybe like a BBS LM or a DZ Exclusive style. my question is this, is there anyone currently running a staggered set up? if so can you post some pics...i would love to see what it would look like on a 5.5 or 5th GEN....

Big wheels or even wide wheels are look good depending on the specs but staggered I would vote against but some have done it, might need to search around and see if any pics are still up.
and why stretch the tires? why not just buy the right size tires

because not a lot of people do it... i dont wanna look like every other maxima on this forum....and when you stretch the tire you can go lower without rolling fenders and it just looks sick!

why go staggered? Serious question not hating.
i personally like the staggered look alot but on a fwd it really serves no purpose.
why not just use spacers on rims the same size with a larger lip?
that way you can rotate your tires regularly with every oil change and get mor life out of them. just a suggestion.
Either way You should do You. not what everyone else likes, its your money and your ride to hell with haters I say. but just really give some thought about what mods you do and how they can help you as apposed to just looking good. functionality is key IMO.

I love how close minded most of the maxima community is to trying different things... 18" is the biggest size that should be on a maxima, +35 is the max offset you should run. 9" is too wide, etc ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Just a word of advice, dont run a staggered setup just to say "im staggered". Stagger because the fitment is good with those sizes.
Dont run stretched tire just to say, " hey look, my tires are stretched!" Run a stretched tire because it helps you clear the already rolled fender.
I'm staggered cause my wheels fit flush with these sizes. I'm stretched because I ride slammed daily and the fender would just sit on the tire other wise.

(F)19x8.5 +17 [215/35/19]
(R)19x10 + 22 [245/35/19] going to a 235/35 to help a slight rubbing issue
I've been running this setup for a while now and contrary to popular belief, there are no adverse affects to running staggered on a FWD.
Riding slammed now is a whole nother story...

Honestly...I wish I had gone with a staggered set up when I initially bought my wheels.
Yes it is true that having a wider wheel in the back as compared to the front serves no functional purpose at all. However, the staggered look is really aggressive and I think aesthetically it can really set a car off. If you plan on attending large car shows...then for sure go staggered...
just keep this in mind though:
-staggered set ups mean you have to pay an arm and a leg for tires (9.5inches I believe you need a 265-275+ width tire at minimum)
-unless you are buying some lightweight monoblocks then wider wheels = more weight = more problems braking, cornering, and accelerating. Unless of course you have a Murcielago LP640 in which case dont worry b/c you have 640hp and 15inch ceramic brakes lol
If you have your mind set on going staggered...then do it...if you are going to spend $1500+ on wheels then make sure you get ones that will make you drool when you look at your ride...it is YOUR ride afterall

same here. G35 18's because they were a good deal. And I've had no problems out of the handling or anything. I dont run staggered just to show off. It sets off the look of the car so get over the nagging and have some stagger swagger.
I have G owners and other car enthusiasts tell me that they look hella good on my car personally. I had one guy try to argue me down about it, I told him I like it and just walked out of the conversation like a one night stand

I've got the Rays NISMO LMGT4's all around...check my photos on my profile
18x9.5 rears +30
18x8.5 fronts +25
i rolled the lip and stretched the rear tires...but have about 5mm of space on the driver side b/c of the solid rear suspension. I am soon installing the energy suspension bushing for the rear, then spacing out the rims for perfection!

I can't help but think everything someone would walk up to their own car that they'd regret having a staggered set up with OUT rear wheel drive...for the intellects out there, they'll wonder the same thing. For the lay, they'll be waiting for the RWD burn out. I'm not a fan of deception. I compare it to the 6cyl Mustangs who dress it out "GT style" as if to add two more cylinders. Since your asking my opinion, I'd stray away from it. Ultimately, it's your vehicle in the end and your opinion should be the only one that matters. Hope it works out either way. Let us know.
