Is this worth it? I know a good turbo setup usually runs between 3 and 4k, but I was looking for something I could start with and work from there. I'm only looking to run about 5-6 psi.

Or is this one of those cheap Chinese eBay knock-off turbochargers that are unbalanced and like to shred up the turbine? Input?

Be honest man look at that picture then look at pictures of people's engine bays with real set ups. That turbo looks like it was built with spare parts from a 1970s vacuum cleaner. Turbo kits for civics arent even that cheap!

The absolute only thing that may be worth anything in that entire kit may be some piping but even that I wouldn't trust. If you want power and aren't willing to shell you the minimum of 5gs needed for a good turbo set up...get nitrous...

lol surprising thing about that kit is if you look at the sellers feedback lots of people buy these kits.. They all have the same picture...

+1 get nitrous, but do research and do it the right way
(not with a garden hose, I know somebody who actually did that)

that kit is not a complete kit....turbo is garbage....

to do a real turbo setup will be about $5k-$7k to start...it goes up from there

RMT is about $2-3k

That's what I figured.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought about running nitrous, but I've seen too many of these:

I may just can all my other mod ideas and save up for a few summers. Or find a good used setup from someone here on the .org.

At least start with their "Stage 2" kit.
For a grand, there seems to be plenty of usable goodies.

I actually bought a similar kit. The piping and intercooler were useful, the waste gate was good, the BOV didn't work untill i cut the spring down, The oil lines they gave me were too short, the turbo made great power, but only lasted a few months. I tried another ebay turbo and that one also experienced a bearing failure. Now I have a Precision Garret and haven't had any problems.

The problem with these kits is that they don't give you the turbo manifold for your car. You will have to do a lot of fabrication.
