Engine Replacement?

I have searched and searched.. I have an 2002 Altima SE 3.5, 5 speed. I bought a replacement engine from an 2003 Max but it was an automatic. I have swapped over everything except the flywheels. I noticed there is a extra piece of metal on the back of the crankshaft on the new auto engine thats not on the old engine. I don't know if its pressed on or not. I will post pictures.

The flywheels and flywheel reinforcement plates are different......you'll have to install your manual tranny ones off your original engine. You'll also have to remove the torque convertor adaptor bushing from the crank of the new/replacement engine and install a new pilot bushing in the counterbore of the crankshaft.

Picture of the two crankshafts

The first picture is from the new/replacement engine which was an auto. The second picture is from the old engine which was a standard.

How do I remove the bushing?

With a small expanding puller, but depending on how tight a fit that it is you may be able to catch the front lip of it with a strong enough hooked tool, vice grips and a small hammer and work around the front lip and "massage" it out of there. Don't bother to try extracting the old one from your original engine, get a brand new bushing. If the new one is an "Oilite" type (very porous looking bronze), soak it in oil for a while before drifting it into place.

Thx for the help I found a expanding pulley puller at Harbor Freight cost 40 and took 20 secs to get the bushing out.
