Maxima vs. Bambi

So I was coming back from WIU Halloween night when I came across a large deer...

Long story short, Maxima hits a huge deer going 55mph and the impact felt like I hit a large pile of snow and she kept going. The deer flew over the car and some part of its body hit the rear driver side door. My girlfriend and I were not hurt just sort of stunned and the Maxima was totaled. Safe car imo. And thanks Maxima.org for all the info and help you've provided. (SE Tails for sale )

should have kept the head as a souvenir, and mounted it on the wall next to your smoked tails.

Oh yeah, it ended up about 10 car lengths behind the car off the road on the opposite side.. lol

Insurance has the car... Almost bought it back when I was looking at a 5.5 6MT that had cloth... But then I decided against buying another Maxima.

I ended up buying a Silver 03 CL Type S 6MT.. Actually I love the car... Like the seats automatically move when you lift the leaver for the people in the back... Not to mention the bucket seats.

I would have lol but that thing was HUUUUUUGE. The length of the deer was literally the width of the Maxima. After I hit the deer and looked at it (from a safe distance lol) I was amazed that only that much damage had occurred. The windshield cracked a bit on the bottom driver door but you can't see it with my crappy cell phone pics.

No, I was going to but then I decided on not getting another Maxima and I'm at school so I don't have a place to store it.

D@mn. It was weird that night because the two other cars I was with hit a deer that only cracked the headlight and bumper a bit and the other hit a raccoon that cracked his radiator. Animals in the road at night suck lol.

Well now if you hit a deer (knock on wood) at least you know that you should be safe lol. I still can't believe I hit that thing at 55mph and it made more noise hitting the car than it did making me feel like I actually hit something. The steering wheel jerks a little bit and my body barely moved.

Yeah, they only made 2,600 6MT without Navi and like 900 with. Saw 5 of them and ended up buying one.

Glad you're both okay. At the risk of sounding opportunistic I could use the oh sh^t grab bar handle on the passenger side unless your girlfriend broke it off when you hit Bambi

I have the 6spd and the only issue that I've heard of was the 3rd gear syncro and I haven't had any issues so far. Yeah, I'm an Acurazine member (mostly because of my buddy who has as a TL).

Glad you're OK. I've had one bounce off a car infront of me and i barely missed it before it ran off across the street. It wasn't even a big dear. Only car height.
