So after a few years without a max...I bought a 2001 SE back in October. Now, as far as I know, and correct me if I am wrong, 5th gen and up comes standard with ABS on all packages. It was also sold to me as having ABS. I was in an accident back in Nov during which, long story short, the ABS never kicked in. I just got the car back a couple weeks ago from the shop, so I haven't had time or daylight for that matter to take a look at the lines to see if it has ABS. I've tested some hard braking on snow and haven't felt anything kick in and only slid to a stop (pretty quick tell). Also, the ABS light is not on nor does it light up when the car is turned on. I did do a quick check on fuses which were all set, but also found what you see in the pictures... Is it me, or should there be something in those empty slots?

maybe it was an option on 01?

 

Pretty sure it came with all 5th gen, but I could be wrong. Also, the fuses for the ABS in the box are all in and intact. I'd think if it didn't come with ABS they wouldn't have included the fuses.

ok just checked in my 01 and i guess you dont have abs man on mine theres two fuses where you dont have any also under your brake booster there should be an abs control module it looks like a big aluminum boxs with a bunch of brake lines going from it
