Paint Chip Repair - kind of long

Hey guys! Well I finally repaired some paint chips on my car with this Langka stuff I've been hearing about. The stuff works pretty well in removing "the blob" or excess paint that is common when using touch up paint. I had a paint chip on my hood which I decided to repair. First I used the Nissan Touch Paint and applied a few coats of it until the chip was level with rest of the paint on the hood. I let the paint dry for about an hour between coats. Then I let the spot dry overnight. Now this is where the Langka comes in. The stuff comes with a a blue card which you have to wrap with an old t-shirt. See their website for detaild instructions,
Langka . Then you apply some Langka to the flat surface of the t-shirt/blue card. From here you will gently start rubbing the Langka on "the blob". You will start to notice the touch up paint or blob leveling or disappearing. Once the blob disappears all that's left is the chip with some paint covering it.

My opinion:

The stuff works! It does what it says in that it will level out and remove the excess paint associated with using touch ups. This stuff is not suppose to harm the clearcoat or your original paint. I haven't notice any problems with the paint or clearcoat in the surrounding areas of my work. Langka is not the miracle cure for our paint problems but it will make your touch ups look better but not perfect. Just my .02

Well...

Langka does remove the excess touch-up paint and smooths it out, but my big complain is that it seems to alter the composition of the touch-up paint and removes almost all its glow. It basically leaves it flat, with no shine.
This is from my experience, after using it on my black Max, with Nissan touch-up paint.
I'm looking into buying one of those touch-up pens with clearcoat to see if using clearcoat over the touch-up paint and the Langka, improve the results.
But Langka definitely does what it advertises...

how much is this Langka stuff? I did some touching up on my sunlit-sand, and I also need to smooth out the edges. I decided to leave things as they are 'til the spring, then I'll get some rubbing compound and carefully try to buff out the excess paint. Oh well, once you use the touch up paint, no matter how you smooth it out, your car will never be the same again.

or...

I've heard you can super glue a tiny piece of sandpaper to a pencil eraser to get the same effect. Obviously I'm talking very fine paper and very light pressure.

$20 for two-ounce bottle; $30 for 2 of them. Check http://www.langka.com.
