Emissions Inspection Question

My 5.5 Gen failed the emissions test due to 2 Evap codes and an o2 Sensor. I need an inspection sticker ASAP, I was wondering I could use my 96 (3.0) for the emissions test for my 2002 (3.5).

Awww Hell Naw

No. they track them by your car's vin. In Georgia they scan barcode on your car's build sticker.

You can try, but I see handcuffs and large sweaty men in your future.

In NY,my friend failed with an 2001 Max, he bought his gf's same yr and model down and they passed his car with hers. It depends from state to state and the test procedures.
People in NY don't generally give a **** about any one or laws for that matter...so..

I'm going to fix it but the sticker is expired and I need it ASAP. I know someone that knows someone that told me if I could get the same model car around the same year they could pass it for me.

When the budget is that tight...

No offense but, If your budget is tight, it may be time to sell one of your cars.

evap codes

My 5.5 threw evap codes just before inspection last year. I changed the gas cap and in a few days the code cleared. Did they check your gas cap?

It's not that my budget is tight. I just had my muffler replaced and I have p0138 & p1446 codes, both related to an o2 sensor which I ordered and am waiting for. I was just trying to get it done quickly because I don't feel like getting pulled over rollin around with an expired sticker.

I have the failed inspection report the guy at the shop told me if I get pulled over to show them the paper and I'm all set. I was reading the state inspection website but I couldn't find anything about that. I guess I'll find out if I get pulled over . My o2 sensor we be here tomorrow.
