Thinking of getting the roof of my car vinyl wrapped thoughts?

I was on my way home from work and I passed a 7th gen white with a black roof and I thought it looked soooo good. Ive been contemplating ever since on getting the roof of my 2000 wrapped in matte black. My car is the sterling mist colour. My only hold backs are i want to see a picture of one thats been done and trying to figure out a way to end it at the rear window.

Has anybody ever seen this/done this?
Anybody have any pictures? (I have looked and can't find one)

Thanks for the input

Drunkie did.

I think it looks really sweet. Personally, I dont think I would do it to my car though until I had a few more visual mods, because I am pretty close to stock.

I hope drunkie doesnt mind me posting his photo.

There are companies out there that do body wraps for race cars, trailers ect.... Just a matter of finding them. They were very expensive to do our late model but it looked great, the designs were endless and way more detailed then just traditional decal work.

I was thinking of painting aswell. However im afraid of it looking like **** or me regreting doing it and then being stuck with a black roof.

Theres a guy I know that does it. He does amazing detailing and restoration of old ****ty paint that is getting into it. Does it for a very reasonable price I hear

Im thinking paint because in the long run I don't want the vinyl to rip or start peeling. Did you use a gloss paint or a flat?

Painting it will definitely be a million times better than vinyl but with vinyl, your car can be returned to stock in a matter of minutes versus repainting the roof. High quality vinyls will not peel since they are rated for outdoor use. You should check out drunkiebear's maxima for pictures.

I used a glossy black. But I think a flat black would look nice too. After the getting the roof painted I get a whole lot more compliments on the car

Not to sound ignorant.......what exactly is the point of this mod? Is it simply to try to set it apart from everybody elses ride?

do gloss black, not flat black

gloss black roof and tinted windshield makes it look like a continuous glass window combining the front and rear windshields

flat black makes it look like you got in an accident, bought a new roof, and were too cheap to get it painted so you just left it as primer.
