Another Satisfied Tein Customer!
Got my Tein SS' in a few weeks ago, and installed them 4 days ago. So far, the ride quality is improved 100%! No more floating over bumps with the setting anywhere from mid range to all the way, and no more harsh bumps when its on the soft setting.
I just drove 2 hours to the RV park my parents are at, and great stiff ride the whole way, then while taking the parents around the park, a nice soft ride after adjusting it!
I finally evened out the gaps today, and from my view and the opinions of family and friends, it looks GREAT! Tell me what you think.
...and stock setup VS Tein SS

Looks great!. Wish I could afford them myself.
What type of strut mounts did you use? New OEM? Moog? or did you opt for the tien ones? (I think theirs are pillowball mounts though) Cant tell from the pic

I used moog mounts in the front, didnt change the back.
And I was thinking maybe its a TINY BIT too low in the front as well. a nice gap throughout the entire wheel well is more what I want, so I'll change that tomorrow. Also consider that I'm parked on a slight hill right behind the RV.
And YES on its softest setting, its a little floaty on the highway but it BREEZES over bumps. The bump to my apartment (like any driveway bump) was always rough in my SE, but great in other cars like a G8 GT and my old Acura Vigor, but even with the Teins on the HARDEST setting, the bump is nothing like it used to be! I love it!

But let me tell you guys... this was a PITA to install. Mainly the rear. Took me and LA02MAX 7-8 hours to install. We kept forgetting different things and had to keep compressing and uncompressing the springs! I was SO sore the day after, and still am a bit!
As far as adjusting the ride height, the front is very easy since its on a bearing, and the rear is a little tougher, but still simple...

very nice, looks like stock tire size as well 225x50x17 which is also why the front is looking low, if you had 235x45x17 you get a whole different look

Also, would that help me with my speedometer being off? when it says I'm going 70, I'm really going between 73-74. Its usually off by 4.5%, and has significantly affected the mileage on the car (I should have more than I do). I'm at 95k and probably should be over 100k by now, if the speedometer has been off its whole life.

yes stock is 225x50x17 and with stock rims and tires you should be off by 4.5% ... if you were running on 16" rims I could see a 3% difference ... I run 16" steelies and a narrow tire 205x50x16 and mine is off by 3% which I can live with for the few months of winter driving.
I was more suggesting dropping down a little on the sidewall profile which would give a bit more space between the well and the tire.
Straight on side few:

But how do I be off by 0%? My sister's 02 GLE has the stock GLE 17's with 225 50's and I took it down the highway with my gps and at any speed under 70, its DEAD ON, not one mph off.
As far as the tires... I see what you mean, but what about getting a fatter sidewall tire to fill in the side gaps a little, and raise the front just enough to make the gap all the way around the same?

If your running straight stock rims and tire size and find your off by 4.5% its not from the tire and rim combo it is your speedometer needle that is off and perhaps needs to be re-calibrated ... a higher profile is only going to show the tire higher up into the wheel well as for filling the gab by going with a wider tire, if your referring to bring the outer edge of the tire to be more flush to the outer edge of the car you can use spacers rather than going to wide on the tire. Remember that going with a wider tire will cost you some gas mileage

I didnt consider the MPG part, and that matters since I drive 150 miles per day.
I understand that a higher profile will put it further up into the top of the wheel well, but I meant by getting a higher profile tire, and raising the coilovers just a bit so the gap between the top of the tire and the wheel well, along with the sides of the tire and sides of the wheel well are all the same, since the wheel well seems to be slightly larger than stock tires.
I WILL be getting spacers soon as well. Definitely for the rear, and maybe for the front...

Well as you coilovers you can simply make a small adjustment for the front height without changing anything, I would not go with a high profile. 10mm Spacers for the rears would make for a nice stance, I am considering them for my rear wheels as well. But for now I am happy with the car stance
