O2 Sensors Changed, ECU reset, still pulling codes.

How is everyone? I have an 02 SE. I've had the P0138-heated bank one, sensor two for about a year or so, on & off. Secondly, I've had the P0158-heated bank two, sensor two, for about for months. About a week and a half ago, I had both sensors changed.

After the installation was finished by mechanic, he scanned and no codes appeared. I drove for about 50 or so miles and suddenly my CEL comes back on. Long story short, I bring the car back to him a few times, he reads and clears the codes but they still show.

I read a few threads on here about clearing the ECU and going through a "drive cycle" but after about 400 miles, still no luck. Any ideas guys? All input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response man but wouldn't the MAF have its own corresponding sensor if it went bad? I just want the codes to be gone. Both sensors have been replaced, codes reset numerous times and the ECU reset once but still noi remedy.

try cleaning the maf first because its possible a poor read from the maf can cause the 02's to read funny.

How is everyone? I tried cleaning the MAF, but still the problem exists. My mechanic suggests that changing the spark plugs and pcv valve would remedy the problem, any input?

So my car is still pulling codes even after having the ECU reset and driving for about 2 months. The original problem was that I had the P00138 & P00158 codes. I had both sensors replaced with OEM one's from Nissan and had the code cleared numerous times. I also reset the ECU a few times but no luck.

I'm driving a 2k2 SE. Can someone please offer some advice on how they resolved the issue. Yes, I've searched numerous threads for the past two months and still have found no resolution. If it helps, my sensors were changed by my local mechanic, not the dealership.

Thanks for any help.

are all replaced sensors made by the same manufacturer? it shouldnt matter but sometimes it does. also, really consider the MAF. it's only about 85 bucks, give or take 5 bucks.

I may invest in one. It just seems as if these sensors are all trial and error. I only replaced the two sensors that were for the corresponding codes.

are these the same codes that you had before? bc when i fixed my P0158 code, after i reset the ECU, the light came back on after a couple hundred miles of driving, but it was a different code(P0430) which i thought was the same code. So, check that.

Agreed. Replacing the O2s can reveal a bad precat. P0139 became a P0420 that was resolved by replacing the precats with my car.
