Dyno numbers (sucky)?!

Alrighty guys

i finally got my car dyno tuned. pretty disappointing if u ask me.

Mods are:
Timing advance, Intake, Y-pipe, straight pipe instead of cat, cat-back exhaust.

It was done on a dynapack dyno. It's one of those ones where they bolt it directly to the hub instead of a roll on dyno.
Let me know what you guys think

no CEL, it did throw a knock sensor code tho... can that affect the performance that drastically?

Not familiar with this dyno, but I am sure the numbers are lower than most. Anyone in the area have a regular dyno?

KS makes it retard timing. So, yeah, it runs like ****!

I'm surprised it's actually that high with a bad KS.

doesn't KS only influence idle rpm and not WOT?

Hi rookei?! This is a semi old post ...

Anyhow ... That's obviously a Mustang/Dyno dynamics dyno, minimum 30% low vs dynojet ..

the knock sensor resistor fixed the low end power.... i'll get it retuned after I install headers, we'll see how that'll go

yes lower numbers on this type of dyno are normal! don't worry! a couple of M45's on the Nico forums (my other home) reported similar "disappointing" numbers. the average M45 puts down between 252 and 270 on a dyno jet.
however one of the board members went to get his car dyno tuned on a dynapack and put down only 230! almost a 30hp difference!
his gain however was the same as everyone else AFTER the tune, which was about 26rwhp more. so even though his numbers were low, the gain was the same as the M's who had their car dynotuned on a dynojet.
so dont look at how much your car put down, but rather how much MORE did you pick up, from the before an after.

higher numbers don't mean anything. but how much he picked up between the before and after DOES.

yes it can! you're losing at least 6-7 more at the wheels (not to mention crappy gas mileage). as much as you baby your ride, i can't believe you missed something like that. get that fixed asap and go get re-tuned.
