i looked at the maxima.org maxfaqs. but i'm not too sure if the wheel offset applies to all generation maximas. i see alot of the things listed are for teh 4th gen. my question is, is the wheel offset for the 5th gen max still 35mm to 40mm? comments are greatly appreiciated thank you.

NOTE: west coast maxima owners, a meet is planned to go down in SF on the 30th of sept. please refer to the west coast section "sf meet"

offset is

still 35-38mm. Lug Pattern is 5x114.3.. Bore is 61mm. 17x8 on 17z, 18x8, Although Some Tuner had 19x9 in rear and 19x8 up front on the 2K a few months ago in a magazine. had 275/30/19 in rear and 265/35/19 in front. said it rubbed a little in the rear when the car went over bumps but only if they hit real big bumps..

thanx

that was what i wanted to know. i wanted to have a similar set up as the max in the turbo mag. with the 275/30-19s i wanted to knwo this because i'm going rim shoppin' here in taiwan. i'm not sure on how pricing is here. can yuo give me a ball park price for good looking 19's and 18's??? i wanted the wheel to be flush with the fenders. and hella wide. wanted to do either 275mm or 265.. please help me out thanx.

iforgot to ask. will the 275mm fit in the front's also?? iwanted to get all the same sizes so i could at least rotate my tires. it doesn't make too much sense to put thinner tires up front on the max since it's a FF car. or should i just go wiht two sizes? i'm most likely gonna have directional tires since most of the hi end tires are directional.. oh yeah any suggestion on tires??

Re: thanx

man I forgot the tire brand they used but I can tell U the tire/rims togather were about $3500.. for 19". as far as in the US. a good 18" setup would run U about $2000. U can get cheaper but a good setup would be about that much.. tire size on the 17x8 would be 235/45/17 or 245/40/17.. on a 18x8 setup 235/40/18... keep in mind these big tires would be heavier so it would slow your car down. as far as the 275/30/19 goes. I think they said those rubbed in the front.. what they said in the end was that it was best to go with 265/35 all around. good tires. bridgestone/Dunlop .. SP8000 from dunlop but I think that guy is being faded out. RE-730 is what I have on mine. not too flashy but not too expensive either..

man U might need 18x9 for those to fit.. if I had the money I might as well go with 19x9.. and drop it a bit so it looks just right..

Center bore is 66.1mm per Stillen's ads...

Turbo Magazine did 19" Volk Racing AV3's, their 275's rubbed even after the fenders were rolled.

265 needs 8.5" at least, I would think... also would it clear the struts in front? Supposedly 8.5" wide rims fit, but some also say they wouldn't try it because then there isn't enough clearance between the wheels and the struts in front to turn the wheels. Not like you need to be able to turn anyway, but it's something to consider.

You're going to want to stay w/ same size all around. as for tires, dunlop d9000's are incredible tires, and have an awsome tread pattern too. they would look mean on a max. as for wider tires, you may be able to trim or remove the plastic fender liner, so you dont get any rub on turns or major susp. travel.
