Custom Maxima

I am custom ordering a 2k2 Automagic Maxima SE from my dealer, and I really think that they are skrewin me. I know that you can get automatic climate control, and 4-way power passenger seat if you add the leather package. I don't want to do this because I am going to get aftermarket leather installed. But, I do want the automatic climate control and 4-way power passenger seat. I would think that since I am having them custom build it, they should be able to add these two options without having to do the leather package. Am I wrong in assuming this, or can it be done?

I have been waiting a long time already (a little over a month so far). And it seems like we have gotten no where. It seems like it should be so very simple. They call up Nissan, tell them what I want, and they build it. Why do they have to make buying a car so difficult!! I just want my MAXIMA! With my options!

sorry, you weren't very specific in your reply. I couldn't really tell what you were saying, except that it was going to take a long time.

At least you guys get to order what you want in it. We don't get to order what we want in it. It's an "in the right place at the right time kind of thing." We're not affiliated with Nissan of North America, and we have our own Nissan Motor Corp of Hawaii. We can see what's coming in to the dealerships but not pick and choose.

I know some customers who wait for 8 months out of the year to have their car made the way they wanted, but most ended up w/ 2 tone special color, or leather interior. Even one guy who thought it would be funny to have every single available color on a different body panel on his 2001 Altima. He waited almost 12 months to get his car, but its the only one in the world w/ Original Nissan paint. So Kudos to him.

Damn Yo, calm down. I decided that I don't want to wait another 2 months (or more) for my car, and I am picking up my SE tomorrow. Didn't get all the options that I wanted, and I got a couple that I didn't want, but at least I'll finally have a car. Been three years at college with no car I'll be pimpin all the ladies next quarter!!

Thx for all your help. The dealer that I went through still stuck to saying that I couldn't personalize certain options. They kept telling me that you can't get certain things from packages. You had to get the whole package. Personally, I think that they were just being lazy, and didn't want to order it for me.

Well, we haven't agreed on a final price yet. We still have to do that tomorrow. When I first started dealing with them we agreed on $200 over invoice. I just hope that they stick to that price. I have it in writing, so I'm pretty sure that they'll have to, but we'll see tomorrow.

Thx Yo, I'll be sure to get in touch with you after I get my car.
