How to identify transmission model #?

How to identify transmission model #?
I am in the process of replacing the drive axle seals, torque converter seal, and pan gasket .. but I need the model # of the transmission.
How do I identify it? The newer transmission is out of the car .. but I don't see any kind of number that is along the lines of RE****
Any help? I'd really appreciate it.
