Timing Advance: ECU Reset

So i was told that with the timing advance, the ECU would reset to 15 degrees after a while. anyone know if this is true?

Not true. The timing parameters get set in EEPROM which will not get erased when you reset the ECU.

And since when can do they do anything except change oil?
Seriously, I'm surprised they could write a resume to get hired haha

Only way it would be lost is if they ran another update on the ECU and wiped out the setting which is highly unlikely. Most all updates (TSB's) etc. are a few years old, so unless you havent had those done yet, which is also highly unlikely, you'll be fine.

I believe if they go any more than 2 degrees, the ECU will not retain the settings after a reset.

I also remember reading something about 00-01's being different than 02-03's.
