Just purchased some G35 coupe rims and installed them with the knowledge that the front center cap can not be installed due to front axles sticking out too far (thanks to Nelsito65 for that information).

I saw some some pics of these on our 5th gens with center caps installed. Did you guys use spacers or what?

I like the look of these rims a lot, but would really enjoy them much more with the center caps installed (I already have a extra set of Nissan caps to replace the Infiniti ones).

half-a$$ pics from my Droid Eris for reference:

Thanks a lot!

I just took another look at Irish's car and read his notes:

Quote: my measurements show 55mm outside lip diameter and about 50mm inside lip diameter....but I used a tape measure, so it's not too precise. The center caps I used were from a 2000 GXE maxima, which also fits.
Searching eBay now!!!

So I searched eBay and the common caps are the following:

40342-AU510

40343-5P010

Anyone have specific part # to verify proper caps?

I read through the sticky and appears this was a major issue for several members.

The numbers for mine are 40342-AU510.
EDIT: I also would like to know how other members were able to install center caps on these G35 rims (front)

Well this is what I did temporarily...

...the rims came with two Infiniti center caps. I already had 4 Nissan caps. I modified the Infiniti center caps to work on the fronts by removing the logo and drilling a hole same diamter as the axle in center. As you can see by the pics, the axle literally sits copletely flush with the center cap, so there is no way of fitting that cap on w/o modifying it or getting wheel spacers.

Had no issues with the rears. They actually went right on w/o any issues from dust caps.

REAR

I've got some ideas for the fronts, but atleast it doesnt look so open anymore.

The Infiniti and Nissan center caps are identical. Same part #40342-AU510. Just different logo. So it doesn't matter which one I use. I didn't want to destroy the Nissan center caps so I used the Infiniti one's that came with the wheels.

I've got some ideas up my sleeve to fix the problem and get the Nissan center caps on w/o modifying them. This was just a temporary fix until I get around to it. Buddy's given me pre-cut silver vinyl stickers to cover the fronts. Might even have him cut out some Nissan logos to put on top the silver...

...we shall see.
