so i recently got my 02 se about a month ago and just tried out the A/C and just warm air comes out the vents. So i tried to recharge it with r-134a freon, still no luck. I have recharged a system before on my girls civic and it took the whole can of freon and worked. i prob gave it like half a can if that and the psi reading says 100. idk if my gauge is messed up or i may have a air bubble in the system.
any suggestions or what to do to know the problem??

nope i have the same problem on my car aswell and you probably have a leak somewhere that you cant see..

 

you cant have a leak and still maintain 100psi. I would recommend finding a place that can purge the system and then try to redo it. Also does your compressor kick on?

 

check ur fuses.. in my old car i had a burnt fuse which didnt let the compresor work..
does the air come out cold at highway speed? my girlfriends eclipse blows hot air on stop and go traffic but freaking cold at hwy speeds..

It sounds like you have a problem with the compressor not turning on. What you want to do is start the car and turn on the ac. Your radiator cooling fans should turn on when you turn on the ac. Then look under the hood at the compressor and see if the compressor is turning. Based on what is/is not happening, we can figure out the next step. If the compressor is not turning on, check for voltage at the connector on the compressor. You can reach it easily from underneath. A voltage reading confirms a bad compressor, no voltage start checking fuses and the compressor connection. As for your PSI reading, if the compressor isn't running your not putting any freon into the system. The car should be getting cold as freon is transfered. Buy the type of freon with a leak dye and sealer. I had to do all this last month, turned out to be a minor leak in a hose fitting which the dye indicated and the sealer fixed and I blew the wire out of the compressor connector while power washingthe motor.
