thought it wouldnt happen to me, BROKEN shifter bracket...help
so,.. on a semi hard shift going from 3-4,..SNAP,...the metal piece (anyone know what its called) that hold the cables in place snapped right in half,... it looks like cheap *** white metal,..
..so i had to pop the hood.. slip it in thrid gear manually and drive home 10 miles all in thrid gear,..
now i duct-taped and zip tied it all together and its driveable to get me to work.. but ...
can anyone shed some light on how hard this will be to replace and what the exact name is?

Sorry to hear. As you probably read, it's sort of easy to swap out.
Side note:
1. Remove both cables to access bolts
2. Remove front bolt completely
3. Loosen rear bolt then you can rotate bracket up and out of the way to remove rear bolt.
Join the club! Not a real 6mt driver till you snap their pos brackets! Thumbs up!
If you order the same 02-03 one from nissan, bad news, it's the same pos material they used before so BE CAREFUL. I learned how to get in gear w.o breaking it pretty fast now. You'll pick up on it. Instal takes 5 minutes. It's a breeze. Cheap fix (40 bucks iirc).

Meh, you're both retarded. Pudding will be served after free play in the yard.
Mist_Max, is this '04 bracket a typical in-stock item? I'm guessing not, since the '04 bracket doesn't break. By way of example: dealerships carry the 5.5 gen valve covers, because they fail. 6th gen covers usually need to be ordered, because they don't fail.

Uh, it took almost 2 weeks for me to get my 6th gen bracket from Dave B.
They are not commonly stocked anywhere and have to be ordered...
...but well worth the wait after comparing side by side.
