A/C and Heat only work on High Fan Setting

My brother has a 2000 Maxima and he called me the other day asking why his A/C and heat only work on High (4). I am going to be checking it out with him tomorrow and I just wanted some feedback before I go to check it out.

Anyone have any ideas why this would happen? (Fuses, fan belts?)

Thanks in advance.

I just did a bit of research on this, and I am still doing more, but do I have to take apart much of the dash or other components to get to the resistor?

Nope. It should be under the glove box and no dash panels need to be removed. Remove 2 screws, remove resistor, insert new resistor, insert 2 screws, done.

This is assuming manual climate control.

Nice. (Yeah it is only a manual climate control.)
