Hey guys, i couldn't stand my 01 SE maxima cluster because it was always dim, and i always had to squint to see it clearly. Today i took it out installed about 60+ Leds behind the gauges in a ring pattern to make the gauges shine better. The result was awesome, its a little bit brighter then that lexus white color. While i was back their i also wired my sport light to come on when the car is on. Some may think its stupid but w.e i like to look at it when im driving at night.... If you guys want it done let me know, im a college student with no job so i could use a little bit of money doing something i like. I can do each cluster for $50 this includes leds, resistors, solder, heat shrink, etc. This DOES NOT inculde shipping. Heres the result let me know what you guys think if my inbox is full text me at 908-217-2305 if you want the sport ligt wired, i can do it for free, also they are still controlled by the dim switch for those that are worried about the brightness.

Looks very nice. I definitely need to do this to my 5.5 cause the gauges are extremely dim.

Wow, sweet deal. Wish you could do 5.5s as well. I've been wanting a LED conversion on my cluster for quite sometime.

If people want 5.5 done if you guys can get the plastic piece, and needles off the front leaving me with room to put the leds i can do it. I just dont want to start problems because i have an 01 so i can test every 00-01 cluster before i send them to ensure they all work. I would need a "test cluster" for the 5.5 to see what the best way to put leds in would be.

So you would have to remove the needles to do this right? I'm afraid of that lol. Im close enough to you to actually meet up.

For the 00-01 you do not have to remove the needles, no wories about accuracy of the gauges after the leds, i can bang a cluster out in about an hour. I 100% assure you your gauges will be exactly the same except theyll be much brighter all accuracy of needles will be perfect. For 02-03 needles have to come out thats why im hesitant to work on the 02s and 03s

Looks good. If you can do it on the 5.5 gen without taking out the needles, it will be much better.

i use super white leds 80+ of them, On SE cluster the super white leds make it appear blue.

These are far from looking stock. Your looking at a 1.2 mega pixel picture... in person its 5x brighter then stock trust me. I have enough for 5 clusters i got a 2nd job so im not going to order anymore leds. the next 5 maybe 6 people that want it done will be the end of it for me, i have no time to do things anymore. im working almost everyday so im not going to reorder anymore leds or resitors.

Thanks!

Since you are busy .. can you maybe do a write-up on how you went about adding the led's?

I'd love to do this, but I couldn't have my gauges removed for that long.
