Real window full roll down?
Real window full roll down?
I have no looked into the shell to see if this is possible but does anyone know if the rear windows can roll all the way down or at least more? This would be really nice. Maybe by altering the current components or swapping in parts from another vehicle. I will look at this myself. I was wondering if anyone had already looked into this or has any suggestions. It sucks knowing the windows on my 93 Altima roll down more then the Max.
Thanks. I am tired of all the luxury cars being able to roll down the windows all the way and I feel like a reject because I cant. We know the luxury maxima was skimped on with a lot such as noise reduction and stuff like that but I want thissssss.
Do a quick search of the 5th Gen forum, this has been covered many times. A little hint: look at the shape of the doors and you'll probably have your answer.

i would imagine theres just a stopper inside the door on the track or something to stop it, if you remove that it would work...i could be wrong we may just have shorter tracks to prevent it from going down all the way who knows
It just can't be done given the design of our rear doors and the location of the rear wheel well.
If you open the rear door, and from the inside, look at the trim that separates the rear fixed glass from the rolling glass, then project down an imaginary line if you will, you'll find out that you cannot go any lower than just about the distance of that trim itself before you hit the edge of the door; that's as much down as you can go....

Comon guys, this has been covered so many times already.
All you have to do is swap the rear doors from an 06 maxima. This is the only year it will work because nissan used 5th gen hinges for 06 because they ran out of 6th gen ones in the parts pile. You're gonna have to splice the wires though...

You must be referring to the rear window limiter. TechnoSquare has an ECU flash that will remove the RWL so that the glass rolls all the way down. But you have to ask them to upcap the the motor limiter as a special request, so the rear windows roll down in 0.5 seconds. It's a pretty cool feature.
in order to have the window roll all the way down, it has to fit in the door.
5th has big rear window. so it wont fit completely. the only way would be reshape the rear window to make it smaller by increasing the small triangular part that does not move.
