two tone, yes or no?!

Here I came up with something with my mad free photobucket edit skills.
I think the dark partial hood would like nice. Considering I already have a black roof now...

Try it in black instead of gray.

How about a CF hood, paint the sides for that "partial" look? Although I'd see about finding some other CF to add to the car at the same time to keep it from looking out of place...

True. I suppose parts would be even more elusive for y'all's cars than for the Maxima...

Real CF overlay + clearcoat?

Maybe. It may look tacky. But I've never seen it done so I dunno.

Well, it's already 2-tone because the roof is black.

OP, if you're determined to pursue this, follow the lines on the hood in a color to match your roof, wrapped around your grill. That's not so bad, but only because your roof is black.

But IMO, the look is too racy for an Infiniti.

It's tough to put a second color on a white car. Especially one with rounded body lines like yours, it just doesn't offer much opportunity to run a different scheme. If your car started out as a different color, say silver, you could run charcoal grey the same way you're doing, and it would offer a true 2 tone look that looked like it rolled off the factory lot like that...

Honestly, unless you're going to do something on the whole car, Don't break what's already working for you...

this is kind of what I thought with the darker color. After looking at it more closely tho I have to agree that it would be tough pull of properly.

I appreciate everyone's input!

For the love of GOD, please someone photoshop this...

If it's done correctly, it may look ok. But, it's really hard to tell with your crayola renderings.

just drop the two tone idea. IMHO, a two tone paint job only looks good on muscle cars

That last one is even worse. Please scrap the 2 tone idea. I personally hate the look on most cars.

The only ones that come to my mind that it actually looks good on are 240sx and sc300s. Mainly cars with hatches and/or huge rear windsheilds.

I remember the 2 tone colors on the 2nd gens, they looked pretty good with it!

I wouldn't dismiss it entirely. Some things look great in black and white.

I did two tone to my max as you can see but I wouldn't suggest doing it to an I30.

Isn't there a MOTM 5th gen, modified, that's 2-tone in white and black?
