Help with code PO507

Today i worked on a 2002 maxima, replaced a leaking radiator and cleaned the Throttle Body because i noticed tons of oil/carbon build up in the throttle body..Im sure you know where this is going..after the cleaning idle stayed higher than usual roughly 1,200 rpm and check engine light came on with code PO507 idle speed to high..at lower speeds if i put load on the car with jerks randomly.

I did a search and of course too late noticed cleaning the TB is a bad idea because of the butterfly staying open. I attempted the Idle Air Relearn procedure and the Idle actually dropped to its normal 700-800 rpm..Problem is once turning the car off the idle goes back to 1,200 rpm. Reading more about the Idle Relearn Procedure actually takes a few attempts for the TB and computer to relearn the new position..My question is tomorrow i will perform the relearn procedure several more times, but knowing the idle does drop after the procedure is this a good sign it will change and go to factory idle after X amount of relearn procedures or is there still a possibility of having to replace the IAC or PCM?

Btw: does the IAC Come separate from the Throttle body? Any helpful Input would be greatly appreciated (any thing im missing?)

Firstly, you do not have an IAC valve (used on Gen. 5 and prior cars). You have the electronic fly by wire TB. Therefore the issue with the IACV frying the ECM is not an issue with your car. Before assuming that the TB is hooped, try accomplishing the "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" and the "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" procedures first, and then the "Idle Air Volume Learning" (without Consult ll) on page EC 71 in the FSM, which you can find a copy here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Update:
Today I performed the Idle Air Volume Learning procedure several times..same results just did not save the required idle setting..once I turn the car off and restart idle goes back to 1200 rpm.

I took the car to the nissan dealer today to see my friend that is a tech. Hooked up the Nissan Consult and attempted the Idle Air Volume Learning via consult but would not allow to make changes...my nissan tech buddy is recommending to replace the Throttle Body and go back so he can attempt the relearn process again.

Any thing else I should be doing? A brand new throttle body is pretty pricey, would I be ok finding a used throttle body?

Wait, Don't buy it right now. I cleaned my TB and had the same symptoms, tried idle relearn procedure many times but no luck and then finally i found out on infiniti forums that if you disconnect the battery for about 10-12 hours leaving headlights on and then do the idle relearn. Trust me it worked for me, i was in the same boat like you but got lucky. One important thing you also have to perform following procedures too before doing the idle relearn.

Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning

DESCRIPTION

“Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning” is an operation to learn the fully released position of the
accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each
time harness connector of accelerator pedal position sensor or ECM is disconnected.

OPERATION PROCEDURE

1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.

Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning

DESCRIPTION

“Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning” is an operation to learn the fully closed position of the throttle valve
by monitorizing the throttle position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector
of electric throttle control actuator or ECM is disconnected.

OPERATION PROCEDURE

1. Turn ignition switch “ON”.
2. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
Make sure that throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound

After performing the above procedures then perform idle relearn.Hope fully it will work for you.

i did the same thing you did, had the high RPM for over a month w/ check light on. I disconnected the battery and left the car in the garage for a week. connected it back and the car was running normal, check engine light was gone too.

picked up the reman throttle body today..have a concern (not sure if its a concern yet) looking at the butterfly it sits at a slight angle...does this matter at all since it hasnt been used or is this the original issue im experiencing? i snapped a couple of pictures

Also looking at this reman throttle body, looks like there is a adjustment screw with a lock nut on it..since i know the throttle body on the car is going to be replaced, would i affect anything if i where to make a last attempt and manually adjust the screw?
