Has anyone traded in their 2k max for a new 02 one?

I'm looking to trade in my 2k max for a new one and I'm wondering if anyone has done this and how much did the dealer give you for your trade in? Thanks

Dealer wanted to give $16.5 K for my 2k, which is only actually 1yr2mths strong. Not worth it for me. I have driven/drooled on the 2K2 but just too much loss. You can probly fetch $20k - $22k for the car yourself cause thats what 2k cars on the lot which were slighty less equipped were going for.

I gotta go with woosh on this one.

I did trade my 2000 max for a 2001 and got about $20k for my fully loaded SE 2000, and got a fully loaded 2001 SE for $26k. I did this because the finance rate was 3.9%

Now if I do it, they are only gonna give me like $18k for my 2001 SE loaded and they want like over $27k for a fully loaded 2002.

Not worth it to me. Plus mine looks like a 2002 anyways, couple more mods and I will be inline with a 2002 performance

The Dealer Quoted me $13,000 for my trade in and I owe $19,000.... Ahhhhhhhhhh..... That's to big of a hit for me. I'm blown away that you were offered $18k for yours... Good job staying with the 2001. I don't know what I'll do?

Thanks,

Tom

I sort of cursed out the GM over at the dealer considering I have only had the car for 4months, and I got the 2k2hids on there. I said no matter what, I want $25k for my car. He said no way, so I walked out.

I traded my 2k se for a altima 3.5 se 5 speed. The dealer gave me 20k for the max and I bought the altima for under invoice. The dealer owed me a favor and really gave me a deal.

I thought about it, but i have way too much invested in my max to trade in. I have a 2k1 SE 5 speed with everything including the 2k2 hids, nav, dvd player and a bunch of performance mods. I think i could probably stay with a new one anyway. The only thing i am missing is a 6 speed.

What's the deal with them offering me $13,000? Kellys blue book goes for $14,000... How did all of you guys get such a great deal on your trade in? Thanks for the reply guys.... This helps out so much, knowing that you got more than $13,000 for your trade in.

Its not you, it is just the dealers you are dealing with, you need to find other dealers.

You guys must be out your minds to change cars every year. Why buy new if you know you can't have it for a few years? 2k or 2k2 is the same vehicle, and 1 second faster in 1/4 mile is not worth throwing out thousands of dollars like that.

That seeems really low for trade in value on a 2000 car. I got $14,700 for my 1997 F-150 4X4 Standard Cab.

I know it seems really low. You would think that you had the some leverage because of the slow down in consumer buying. And what the hell is Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds for? They tell you what you should get for your trade in and the dealer tells you that it's what they can get it from the auction for!!!! Most of these dealers can eat a D**K Sandwich!!!! Sorry for the frustration.. And Thanks for the help guys...

Consumer spending has slowed, but the automotive market has seen notable increases. Retailers are hurting, but the slimy car dealers aren't. It is sad, but the 0% interest rates are killing values of somewhat used cars. This is the time to look for deals, not trade in somewhat used(under 1 year) vehicles. I'd stick with your 5th gen and just go look for some good deals. Once you find a winner, put a 4 sale sign on the max and get your KBB value. Car dealers are the most evil slime on the planet, but they are here to make money.

Amen to that BigDog. I was offered only 19K-20K for my loaded 4 month old 2K1 and the new 2K2 was going for 30K. If I had gone for it, I would have lost 7 grand on the 2K1 plus my payment on the 2K2 would have been higher than on the 2K1 because of the higher interest rate(I got 3.9% on the 2K1) and because I would not have much to put down after the trade.

Bottom line was it was not worth it. For the money I would lose on the trade, I could buy a supercharger and suspension mods.
