AC problem or quirk?
I don't drive my 2000 GLE every day, sometimes more than a week. When I start the car and turn on the AC, it will blow hot air for over a minute before it starts to cool. Once I have driven the car, I can start it up and the AC blows cold right away, even if the car has sat for half a day. I can hear the click of the AC compressor clutch when I press the button and can see the compressor turning, but it will take a long time to start cooling after sitting several days. Suggestions/ideas?

I've thought about that. But since it blows nice and cold once it starts to cool, I wonder about that. Before I have someone look at the car, does anyone know if some sensor might be doing this.

Is the belt slipping? Yeah, it's a stretch, but I noticed a pretty dramatic difference in the final AC temperature when I got my dangerously-slippery, cracked belt replaced. I can't really feel the difference while it's still achieving maximum cold, but the final temperature is much colder. The techs at my work explained that AC compressors need heavy amounts of power and my slipping belt wasn't able to fully deliver the goods.
I would also suggest having the refrigerant checked, of course.
