Replacing Both Lower Control Arms

I'm replacing the lower control arms on my 2000 max today. How much time do you think it will take and is there anything, that's not obvious, I need to know about?

it depends on the conditions of all the nuts and bolts....mine were bad and i couldnt get a few off even with an impact...had to cut them off...went through 10 blades...took me two days!

soak everything and let it sit...good luck

I got control arms on without any big problems with rust or broken bolts, the rubber bushing were in bad shape. I was going to add pics of the old control arms but could not figure out how.

I still have a problem with squeeking and now grinding when turning, the grinding was not there before replacing the control arms. Other than bad bearing, what else can the noise be?

Im about to put in new ball joints in mine. So I think you have to remove the axles for clearance when you put in the new arms. Also i was wondering what control arms you are purchasing? Mevotech? Raybestos? ACdelco? Not to rob the thread but I thought about just buying the whole new control instead of the ball joint but wasnt sure what brand arm to buy being that I am dropped on coilovers as well.

I've already put them on and there is no need to remove your axles. Dorman is the company that made mine. I can with bushes and ball joints.

It could be a CV joint in the axle. Quick check is to see if the rubber boots around them are torn. A good boot still does not guarantee a good CV joint.
