Replacing Master Window Switch - Defective Part?

A brief history of my Master Window Switch Issues

Bought my 2000 Max SE (Auto Trans) in 2005 at around 67,000 miles. About 1 month after my warranty expired I found out that no one on the passenger side could operate their windows from the passenger side. I could operate the passenger side windows from the master drivers switch.

I thought it was wiring, so I didn't bother having it fixed.

Fast forward to this winter with the car at 130k miles. My drivers window stops operating entirely, but I can still open and close all other windows. I thought it might be frozen so I didn't have it looked at until this summer. I thought it was the motor, but the shop was able to get the window to operate by manually sending voltage via the harness with the window switch disconnected.

They advised replacing the switch entirely, so I bought one from Dave B. at South Point Nissan for around $134 shipped.

I go to replace the switch with the brand new one, and I cannot get any windows to operate. The door lock works, but that is all. If I replace with the old part, the same windows operate as before. (Yes I made sure the window lock button was not depressed on the new part).

Is this indicative of a defective new window switch or do I need to reset the ECU or something of that nature?

I noted slight variations in the holes in the switch in the back (old part had depressed tabs versus the new part having drilled holes) but thats the only difference I could discern.

Thank you for your input.
