Bedding in brakes and no more shimmy?

Last week, I had an interesting issue. I had posted about a brake pulsation issue that happened only at low speeds and not at higher speeds.
From the responses, I thought there was potentially rotor or pad issues or both.
I went ahead and did a re-bedding in of the pads and rotors(same old ones that were on the car) y'day and this morning and I am surprized. The issue is gone.
Also, along with that I no longer have a shimmy I was feeling at highway speeds.
The only wierd thing is that the brake pedal is going down a little more than what it used to.
Anyone have any thoughts or feedback as to why the pedal would go down more after bedding in? I thought it would only get tighter? also what would be the connection of no more shimmy after bedding in? could the pad material transfer be so much that it was causing the issue?

Wow, that's great to hear that re-bedding fixed your pulsation issue.

I don't understand how you can bed in pads that have been on the car for that long.....I think your rotors are probably at that minimum limits.

Front pads and rotors are about 6 months old.
Rear pads and rotors are about a year old.
That stoptech website had a plethora of information on bedding and re-bedding.

Yup, it works. Just need to get things hot and smoothly brake to evenly redistribute the pad material upon/into the rotors.

Added wear? Or, your perception is off; its difficult to accurately test this.

Not really tighter, just smooth.

The even distribution of pad material gives even/consistent friction levels.

Yes and no. It was likely the cause, but not because it was excessive, just uneven.
