Radiator options?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not a 4th gen rad can be used on the car? Would like to go all aluminum, but nobody makes one for the 5th gen max. But they are available for the 00-06 Sentra, and 91-99 Maxima. I know the bottom hose location is the same on 5.5 and 4th gens because I have the 4th gen hose with the 350Z t-stat. Is the upper hose too far off to work? I know some of you have/had 4th gens and came to the 5.5 gen so what do you think?

yeah, they will work. Advanced sells one with a 1" core as compared to the 5.5's 5/8" core. The only 'modo' you have to do is dremel out the holes for the base of the fan, not hard at all.

I was thinking of the mishimoto, they also make an aluminum fan shroud with the fans... so I'm wondering if that would all fit, but which hoses ?

Should be a good write-up for you once you do it. Good luck...

I did this literally an hour ago. The "feet" of the fan shroud are cylindrical style on the 4th gens. The 5.5 is more of a slot-style. The 1" radiator I bought from advance obviously had pole-style openings so I dremel'd them into a square shape for the 5th gen fans. However, the fans didnt fit enough for my liking so I trimmed a sliver off each foot of the shroud. All in all, I'm really happy with it.

Mishimoto website says this is for the 95-99 maxima vq30 manual transmission only

this is supposed to be 03 maxima rad for automatic...

They look almost identical

Just recently the top plastic on my rad was giving up and shooting out coolant...upon searching for a rad I seen that Mishimoto 95-99 was metal on top which is a hugh advantage to not having this issue occur again. BUT I was running out of time and had to go OEM. So far so go...but I'm stuck with non-Mishimoto.
