I'm new to the list so if this has been asked in the past I'm sorry. I have a 2002 SE and wonder when should I wax it (old days paint had to 'cure') and I also wonder when would be a good time to switch to Mobil 1 (at the first oil change)? Thanks in advance for any advice.

By the time you get it at the dealer the car could be a month to a few months off the production floor. So, there is no need for curing. A good sealant should be applied to protect the clear coat.(The dealership ussually charges you an arm and a leg for this)

 

as for the oil change, some people around here change on the first while others wait til around 9k. im waiting til 9k just because how the maxima takes a bit longer to break in and i want all the seals nice and settled in. ive got 6500 on my 2k1 and it feels better everyday.

 

Waxing.....clearly you are ready to prep and wax her for the 1st time. This must be done correctly....try www.pinnaclewax.com or www.zainobros.com and get the best money can buy.

Oil......Mobil 1 anytime after a few weeks of use is ok. Hell the Camaros and Corvettes come from the factory with it installed from day 1.
