Iphone Dyno and OBDII scanner

Hi everyone, I just came accros this app on my iPhone. This thing works as a dyno, OBD-II scan tool, data logger, efficiency meter and more. It's a free app which has limited functionality, but the company asks $179 for their wireless transmitter to be able to get full functionality of their app.

Has anyone of you ever tried this? I'm tempted to buy it, but I think $179 is way too much for this. I'd probably buy it for $80 top...

I have a couple of BMW customers who swear by it. Gives you all kinds of information like coolant temp, max rpms reached, etc. It is a very cool app. $179 is the going price for the wireless transmitter, in fact that has dropped about $50 from where it used to be.

The name of the app is LogWorks. The cheapest I could find on eBay is around $150.

You can even email your dyno screenshots. I did this one yesterday (didn't go crazy on the acceleration, it was just a test).

app is free, the wireless transmitter (which is needed to use the app to it's fullest) is $150

some apps are $50 or more.. just depends.. but everything is free once a iPhone is jailbroken

They are.

But most apps don't have a wireless hardware interface to your car.

[Hope this link works....]

ALL of these works with Bluetooth and OBD-II apps. Most of them are under $30 shipped.

The smaller dongle version is an older protocol and more expensive, but fits nicer on some vehicles where the connector is right under the dash near the drivers knees (5th gen Max)

But the software can *decide* NOT to work with the ebay hardware. Then you will need the $179 wireless transmitter.

So is there a way to know if any of these will work with the iPhone app?

I think this app works with WIFI and not bluetooth...

How much did you pay for it? Let me know if it works with your 5.5gen.

My BT will be here soon as well. I will be testing with a rooted HTC Eris and Android app Torque. I already have a serial to Palm version (Auterra) which cost about $150 a few years back, and had a serial to PC/laptop generic version prior to this that cost around $100. Both of those work(ed) great but didn't like the whole cable thing.

Will be planning on selling Auterra and Palm Tungsten T2 once I confirm this set up works with my Eris.

Iphone has been down for a while and I sold my LM-2, Might be interested in selling my OT-2 which is what u use to interface with the iphone...

works great, I can stand pretty far from the car and clear my codes and such. there is even a way to use a wideband in conjunction.

I am using the cheapo ELM327 adapter with Torque and can say I really like it. It doesn't show fancy graphs like the one above but it gives me a good readout on what the car is doing. I only wish Nissan would open up their PID database so I can look at more information.

BTW I suggest buying from 88autoshop I practically got it the next day (Ordered late Thursday got it Saturday)
