Steering rack leaking at the seal (big nut) 2003 max. Alternative to replacing rack?

I have a 2003 Maxima with 42,xxx miles on it.

The power steering rack is leaking just a little from a big NUT kinda on the underside of the rack.

It is a little closer to the passenger side.

I am sure many here have looked at these steering racks and hopefully know exactly what I am talking about.

Is there an alternative to replacing the whole rack?

Is there a way to 'reseal' or replace the seal?

Can this possibly be fixed by removing the big nut (the seal), resealing it, then replacing the big nut?

I stopped a leak in a transmission gasket once (not a maxima) by putting JB Weld on the leaky / damaged area of the gasket. Any insight in whether this might work on this steering rack?

I can see a blue film around this nut, like a rubbery gasket sealer glue or something. I had considered sanding this down just a VERY little before applying the JB Weld so the JB Weld would stick (weld) directly to the metals, not the blue filmy stuff.

Any feedback on this very much appreciated.

Can you possibly take a picture of the nut in question?

I wish I had a picture I could have included with my post.

I would need to get the car up on a lift to get the picture.

I will get the picture when I get it up on a lift.

Thanks.
