Headlight separation question

Let me start by saying, I have searched and am familiar with the baking method (20 min@ 200* or 10-12 @ 300*)

My question is, could I achieve the same levels of success using a heat gun? My wife is a home maker and she would not much go for me sticking my headlights in the oven. At least not unless I bought her a NEW oven afterward to use for the meals she cooks for us .

I found some threads alluding to it but no definitive evidence of the heat gun method being effective, whereas the effectiveness of the baking method is well proven.

Thanks in advance,
-DC

No. You need the oven to heat the entire thing evenly. While a heat gun MAY work, the oven is going to be 500x easier. Headlights in the oven is perfectly fine... It'll make the kitchen smell like headlights for an hour... that's it... (not a big deal). Buy your wife something nice and bake the lights. Or tell her YOU'LL make supper one night if you can use the oven for your lights. I do 215 degrees for 15 min.

yes, you can use a heat gun, it works..its a tad slower and more involved however a good option if you dont have access to the oven
