Eibach & Coilover Install Photos

Just wanted to share some photos, give props to Nilesh (djfrestyl ) for the great install and Jay (jbrooks870) for the good deal.

My car handles beautifully, with just some noise on the rear-right assembly - needs new strut mount kit. I am really satisfied with Nilesh's work and do recommend to anyone looking for suspension upgrades to consider his work.

Here are some pics of the day:

We'd have to wait for Jay to provide some feedback, he got the new coilovers and I got his used Eibachs.

I know that guy

The Megan's are fantastic coilovers. Much better than D2 & Ksport.

Great pics Bernardo, and thanks for the props!

Everyone who's local to NJ/NY/CT/DE/PA, I will install your suspension!

Very nice. The fronts on our cars is easy, the rear are a bit of a PITA though. Only because of that black metal brace that goes over the top strut mount.

Guys the Megans ride beautifully, I've had Tein SS coilovers and I like the Megans better because they offer a more sport tuned feeling. I have not adjusted the Megans in any way so far they are still on factory settings and the balance between comfort and handling is perfect. Only drawback we had was that Megan installed the bottom brackets on the fronts backwards causing the camber plates to be on the wrong sides of the car. Easy fix though ill update this thread with some more pics soon. I would highly recommend these coilovers.

These are one of the better entry level coilover systems for the price. The quality is better than D2 and KSport. I dont know why many Maxima owners dont have these, it seems that its either D2/KSport or high end coilovers. Its strange considering that the Megans are roughly the same price, you can get a set for around $850 shipped, closer to $900 shipped off Ebay but the quality is much better.

Hey.

I'm still here. And the BC's are still on the guy's car. We were supposed to extract them today but we had to reschedule. We should be able to pull them off in the next couple days- I'm hoping Sunday.

Each click is a dampening setting.

Turn all the way to the left. That's full softness, not 0. Then each click is one step towards firm.

Yes, it will stop. Coilovers usually are softest at the extreme counter clockwise point (left). They also usually come preset to the middle setting from the factory.

How do you figure? Most of the parts are interchangeable and if looked at they look almost identical besides color..

since he deals with alot of suspension setups i'm sure he's able to give a valid personal opinion on how they ride

Ah. I still honestly doubt that one could really tell much of a difference between k sports and megans in a blind test...

Regardless, congrats on the suspension, hope it works out well

It's not necessarily the look of them.

The bushings are higher quality. No clicking when turning. Spring rate is perfect for the Maxima. Adjustability is better - both when adjusting, and the ride itself.

Plus, up close it simply looks like the individual parts were milled in a generally higher quality fashion.

dont mean to be a pain in the ***...but 1 more question...to unload the preload on the coilovers you just loosen the springs and then re tighten?

Correct, reduce the compression of the spring between the lower and upper perches. You loosen the collars on the lower perch to do this.

FYI, the correct amount of preload is that they should be held in place without movement when fully decompressed (wheel off the ground)

Why don't you just swing by for me to install them? I can have them installed in under 2 hours.

If your not guna install them then why would you buy them now? You might as well just put them on. Its not guna snow everyday here and theyre not set very low from the factory.

Its not a ferrari dude lol and think about it when it snows bad the chance of you driving is only based on necessity which means it won't be much. Snow on the ground is the same as rain so are you not guna drive when it rains bad too? The only other factor would be road salt which is still probably only a minimal factor when considering longevity of a coilover system. One winter season isn't likely to destroy your coilovers. So with that said just put em on and enjoy them!!! Lol.
