So I got my Max (03 6speed) dyno tuned with a SAFCII on saturday and right off the dyno it starting throwing a 1464. I have a code reader that tells you the code and you match it in the book it gives you. Well it says in the book that is a "a/c demand out of selftest range" code but when I did a little search on google I saw a bunch of stuff about fuel pump voltage or something. The car is running great, no problems, and the a/c works...anyone know whats goin on?

 

P1464 on a Maxima is "fuel level sensor". This code is not a standard among all brands of automobiles. For example, on a Ford, this code means "ACCS to PCM High During Self-Test", whatever that is.

What the code is saying is that the ECU isn't getting a proper reading from the sensor in the gas tank. The 2003 fsm on page EC-589 says the possible cause is "Fuel level sensor circuit. (The fuel level sensor circuit is open or shorted.)"

Does your gas guage seem to be working?

 

Yea, the gas gauge is working just fine. I can't seem to find anything not working or running properly. How could I fix it?

 

Have you reset the code and it keeps coming back? If the fuel level sensor was either open or shorted, I would think that the gauge would read either full or empty. Maybe its a case of an intermittent connection that the ecu detects but still allows the dash guage to work.

I really don't know. You would have to pull the fuel pump mess out of the tank and try to check the resistance of the fuel level sensor as well as check the wiring..

If I really stretch my imagination, did the dyno tune include an ECU reprogram?

 

Damnnn that sucks. No the dyno was just with the SAFC and thats it. When I hooked the SAFC up 3 days before the dyno the light wasn't on either. I did clear it then it came right back. I'll prob go up to Nissan and ask them.

Would it have anything to do with having G35 injectors and a a/f tune?
