Tire Decision/ HELP!!!

So I dont remeber if you guys remembered that I posted on here a couple of months ago that my bro in law was giving me his stock G35 rims for $200 which are these...

well im finally going to buy some new tires for them before mounting. Im currently running 225/55/17 stock 02 maxima se wheels ( this is after a fresh wash with NO WAX!!! , think it looks so sexy lol) ...

Now my question is, am I able to fit 255/45/18 on the car without any rubbing, major issue or should i just play it say and go with 245/45/18 like how everyone else has it. **Plus as you guys see I do have a hitch on the car because I use it as well to tow my jet ski to the marina** BTW the wheels im thinking of running are the Nexen N300...

Any input, advice, negative, pretty much all feed back whether its negative or positive would be greatly appreciated.

I would keep looking... IMHO tires is not area where you should go cheap.

I hear they are a hard tire tread tire with soft sidewall.

Try Tirerack.com.

Im not sure about the tire sizes, but I have yokohama sdrive tires and love the grip, there are other good options for ~$100-125. how do you drive? Do you take an on ramp at 80 mph? or do you just use your v6 to power around slow cars and continue along at the speed limit?

ok so lets say I dont go with the Nexen N300, would that tire size fit my max with those G35 wheels? The size again is 255/45/18

Anyone?

i wouldnt go bigger than 245-45-18

im running those on my rear right now and personally i wouldnt go bigger. the tire will have too much sidewall. go with a 255-40 or 275-35 if you want a wider tire

I should know this because these are pretty bandwagon just like the Z33 tracks :O,

but IIRC, the tire is the only difference in this case, correct, not the offset and width (Fr/R)?

If that's the case and you're not lowered, I wouldn't go larger than a 245-45.

I had Nexen N7000's on my stock 17's and absolutely loved them.

Only issue I ever had with them is the tread life is poor, but that should be expected from a low priced performance tire.

You will see reviews of all tires name brand/off-brand/generic that contradict each other. Go with what you feel is the best overall value, performance and safety based on research.

I agree with the others...don't go cheap. Go wider, with a nice tread pattern.

Wider than 255?

I wouldn't.

Tires are more than just a cool looking tread pattern.

...and here I thought tires were always form over function.

245 is pretty much the ideal width for the Maxima, IMO. The 45 series will be fine. The G35 wheels are not staggered. Just the tires were staggered from the factory.

After much research, I decided to go with the hankook ventus k110 tires. They scored higher than the much more expensive michelin ps2. I haven't driven on them yet, install happens Monday. But I saved about 600 dollars by not going with the Toyo t1r's I've used the last 2 seasons
