I had noticed that Dupli color paints at our local Canadian Tire stores have all changed in their packaging as well as in the paint color name, There was a time when I could pickup a can of Nissan Sterling Mist which is KT3 now you really have to read the label on the cans to see if your paint code is mentioned. You have to remember that the dupli paints are a close match not an exact match. Now if you check around with some of your NAPA stores you should be able to find one that has a paint dept. where the can mix you a can of your paint color for a exact match, you can buy it in flat finish or with the clear coat added in so perhaps you might want to call a couple of the NAPA stores to find out which outlet has a paint mixing dept. if your doing a bumper you can even request for some flex to be added to the spray mix. Here in Ontario a mixed spray can in your color sells for about 29.00 (expensive but at least it is a damn good color match)

According to that site. KV3 is Green Gray Metallic.

Well if that's what the touch up paint is going to be used for, it won't matter how good the match is because the fake hood scoop on a Maxima is going to look like crap and simple out of place. You may as well add a couple of Chevy racing strips to the hood while your at it.

Trust me forget the hood scoop dressing and invest in some really nice waxes and polishes and give the car a good detailing, fake stick on's just don't work

Don't mean to jack the thread, but rather than start a new thread, i just wanted to ask Ghost how'd the spray cans work for you?

My car needs quite a bit of touch up and i wasn't sure if those 1/2 oz bottles would be enough. Now I see you mentioning a spray can and after a little search, found one on ebay.

How many layers did you need to put on and I'm assuming it looked pretty good.

Going to depend on what you are planning to spray paint ... I have repainted my rear bumper, best method is to remove it but you can mask it off and use lots of paper well past the area your planning to paint to prevent over spray. It took one 10 oz. ca (284 gr) to paint the bumper as well as 1 can of adhesion promoter and 1 can of primer and 1 can of clear coat. Doing a very small area here and there will not work, you really do have to find good clean edges to work from (one to the other edge). Wet sand after applying the primer, wet sand after applying the top coat of paint and wet sand after applying the dressing coats of clear coat. High speed polisher helps when all is done and dry. Spray painting is an art and does take a certain amount of patience ... I wouldn't recommend using spray paint unless one is very comfortable with applying it.

gotcha. bought the car used and the paint on it is pretty horrendous. Main goal is to take care of chips and rust spots to avoid further damage. I just figured with a can, I can try to make some more uneven spots match.

Can't justify spending over a grand on getting a paint job right now, so I guess I need to just cover up those spots. I guess I'll go for the pen/brush. Thanks

ok...good news. i got some paint numbers from Dupli-Color and went to a local NAPA. those numbers are discontinued, BUT..this NAPA was able to make be a spray can 18oz to match the paint code from my car (KV3) i don't know if all NAPA's do this...but it worked out well for me.
