Help me choose transmission replacement

So I went to car-parts.com and because my automatic transmission is for a 2000 I30t, I need a salvaged locking trans and there is NOT 1 located in my state (Arizona). So I found thse 2:

1) 65k, A Grade, $700, 100 day warrenty (Gundies Auto Recycling, Oregon/Washington)

or

2) 40K, A Grade, $700, 30 day warrenty, he said the tranny was tested since car was rear ended (Import Auto Line, Colorado)

So do I go with the import store even though its 30 day warrenty, or other vendor in Oregon knowing its 25,000 miles more for same price but with a 100 day warrenty????

Please give me your input ASAP, I need to order this thing tomorrow and need any feedback I can get.

Thanks!!

I would say the 100 day warranty. Mileage shouldn't be the deciding factor since you'll never know exactly how the car was driven.

Warranties on used trannies are great, but, in the grand scheme of things a month or 100 days it's all the same. If you put a tranny in and it works, doesn't leak it's probably going to work correctly for 100 days or more.

That being said, if your concern is the warranty etc, I'd consider buying from the place that is closest to you and ask if they have a better warranty than their standard 30 day. Most places have all different tiers 30/90/365 and sometimes cover labor as well. The reason i'd look at the closest place is because of shipping, more than likely they wont cover shipping the bad one back and it's probably going to be in the neighborhood fo 100 bucks or more.

Also, can't you look at 2001 Anniversary Edition Maxima trannies?

100 day warranty...that 30 day could set you up for the kill...i mean really...40k?! think about it...i cant see any car really having the claimed 40k miles anyway...thats what all/alot of these places that sell trans and engines say, but i dont believe it. i just see if it works and if so then im good.

Thanks for the reply guys, I really appreciate it.

So I tried to extend the warrenty for the 40K tranny and no go. I also found there company on BBB but a different address and phone number, but the same exact name. Showed several complaints regarding faulty parts and shipping issues.

I went ahead with the 65K tranny because of the warrenty, and nothing on BBB. Ill keep you guys posted on the results/outcome.

Question:

Should I keep my original tranny, in case I want to fix it in the future? They dont need it for core, so I thought I either keep it or just junk it. Is it worth it to fix an auto tranny?

I know, I don't have the time or place for it either. Unless its fairly self explanatory with the rebuild kit instructions. Im just scared to do the work and spend 500 for a kit, and it doesnt work per my inexperience of rebuilding. I know some tranny's are easy to work on but I heard ours are picky with the tolerances of assembling and some things are hard to properly align.

IDK, maybe I should just get it and see what happens. Hate to have the mechanic make money off my so called "junk". haha
