Ok, after chasing the dreaded p1320 code for almost 6 months I gave up...
Step 1 was to replace the plugs. I did it NGK Iridium
Step 2 Purchased 6 new coils from Dave B with the gray dot...

After replacing the coils i could tell the car is running like a champ....
However when the engine is cold, it seems that the idle will jump up and down for a few seconds then it goes away... the car starts normally ever time. It will jump between 1100 and 1300 rpms for about 5 to 10 seconds....

is there such a thing as an idle reset for the 00 maxima?

im also working on fixing my 1320....changing the coil packs fixed my rough idle but I still get the 1320 and I get other for bad o2 sensors now...sigh

 

That is a valid proceedure. It is a cut & paste from the FSM (factory service manual). It is page EC-72 in the 2000 early production manual and page EC-70 in the late production manual.

Is there another way? Sorry, I don't know.
