2k maxima

When i turn key to second position(all lights light up on dash) there is a loud buzzing noise coming from engine bay it seems to be around the tranny area. It sounds i like a high power transformer. I haven't check it out yet but gonna check relays first any suggestions?

Same exact problem here in my 2k. Haven't located the origin of the buzz but I'll check back if I find something.

It could very possibly be your electronic motor mounts( if you have an automatic). They tend to buzz when they are going, and when they go they can fry your ecu. Just disconnect them. They will not cause any harm disconnected.

Most likely our electronic motor mounts.
Heres a good thread on it:
http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...e-startup.html

If the buzzing continues after you shut off your car, its getting bad and you can unplug them if you want (not a bad idea because when they go for good, then can fry your computer on the way out).

When I replaced my VB I forgot to plug the harness in and when I tuned the car on it was making a weird noise as well. But that was with the car running so I am not sure.

I believe there is a relay related to the fuel pump priming in the left kick panel that gets noisy and buzzes. I've replaced in other Nissans but not a Maxima. Mines not loud. I wait everytime for the fuel pump to prime in every car I drive. It ended my random misfire code CEL.
